Episode: Tree Planting at Onondaga

Saturday April 18th, 2009 Ali, Mary, Rui, Kathy and Rob ventured out to the Tim Hortons Kids Camp at Onondaga to plant a few hundred Red Oak trees, followed by lunch and a tour of the camp.
The Marts and Silvas showed up later and joined the planters for a supper at Uncle Gils farm just down the road. The kids had a great time running around, and trying to name all the different types of birds.

Happy 11th birthday to Mary Watson. Hope you had an awesome day. Can't wait to see you all in Grand Bend.

Episode: Olympics...Here we come!

Tierney had her first gymnastics lesson on Saturday! She was so excited. Her coaches name is Meredith and she attends Tumble Tots. The first lesson was awesome they learned so much and Tierney could do almost everything without any help. We are looking forward to all the weeks ahead.

Here she is on the balance beam,

And on the trampoline,

And the bars.

We can't wait to go back and learn some more and have some more fun .....and ps Daddy had fun too!

Episode: Everything's coming up Everett

Well, Here he is ........finally! I had to take many many pictures of him to abolish the old adage that the second child does not get as many pictures taken of him as the first. Oddly enough after this sitting Tierney remarked that "There are no pictures of me when I was a baby ya know"

I had to laugh because there are literally hundreds anyone who knows us knows this to be a truth maybe thousands I would have to check.
And Yes he did pee in the air during this photo shoot. I did not get a shot of it but it would have captured the true Everett.

Tierney had no qualms about kissing her brother when asked to for a picture. However my vantage point was not always the best there were about 50 outtakes for every good kiss shot.

As you can see he is filling out quite nicely pretty soon we should see some nice ham hawks starting to develop.

He naturally looks into the light! Perfect for those
"Reflective Baby" type poses. What do you suppose he thinking about? Perhaps reminiscing about his time in the womb.

We hope you enjoyed our photo montage! Stay tuned for more as I am a snap happy mama!

Episode: Waiting for Tomato.......

So excited! Can't hardly stand it. The Mart household is abuzz with anticipation, I am placing an order of Samosas with Cam. We're going to get things going! Already dialated 3cm and 70% effaced! This baby's headed downtown! We're getting this kid out one way or another!

Tierney is majorly pumped to be a big sister we have started a baby video journal, so we can look back and see just what happened when we were waiting for the youngest Mart to come!!

Top 5 Things Tierney will do with Tomato

1.Change it's diaper
2.Hug him/her
3.Make funny faces at him/her
4.Teach him/her about the Easter bunny
5.Kiss him/her

Bring on the baby!

Episode: Winter Returns !

After some nice days we have returned to the snowy conditions...snowblowers, scrapers the whole deal Blah ! Not much going on this weekend. A little retail therapy and all the Kids and Grandkids over for Brunch today. Fun Times. Cam and Laura are off to Paris for a Pizza Party at the Sr. Marts and Kim, Dave and the kids will be watching movies...Gabby and Rui have discovered the Indiana Jones series. Although they watched the last one first and now know that Dr. Jones survives through the first three movies, it'll still have lots of thrills for them. Laura is ready for Tomato to come and we are all standing by with our appointed chores. Kim is going to be assistant Coach with Cam and I am taking charge of Tierney while Cam & Laura are at the hospital. I hope I can help make it a special time for Tierney. We have a few tricks up our sleeves so it should be fun !

Episode: Summer plans...

When the sun peeks out like it did today we can actually imagine a world without mittens, boots and frozen windshields. Yesterday I went browsing to a second hand store and an antique market with Megan & Andy. We found some cool accessories at the Generations Mennonite relief store and later the M's and the S's came over for dinner and scrapbooking. Today Rob & I did some errands and then I took my doggies for a walk. The puddles were a little nippy on their toes but they loved to stretch their legs. Last week we found our new spot for our vacation and we are so excited. We will be right next door to each other and that will be excellent for planning our meals and outings. Not to mention, easy access to cuddles from my grandchildren, all four of them by then ! Next we will plan out some of our meals and that will hopefully eliminate our daily grocery store trips. Not that we don't like shopping....just not for groceries.

Episode: January update...

Well it's already the last day of January...2009 is a blur so far ! We've had a few minor health issues but as of today everyone is happy and healthy. Rui is over his chicken pox, Kim is over her rash and Tierney is over her flu and dental surgery. Good news this month was that Cam was appointed Director of Production, a great promotion for him and he and Laura are very excited for this new opportunity. Laura will be taking maternity leave as of Feb. 28th to await the arrival of our little Tomatoe. Kim & Dave are planning a trip to Disney this May and everyone is very excited ! Megan & Andy just returned from Cuba where they vacationed with Andy's family as their Christmas gift from Charlie & Bonnie. A fun time was had by all. Rob and Kathy are doing some home renos, getting a new furnace next week and doing some major purging of junk as a result of getting the furnace/laundry room prepped. Today is Tierney's delayed birthday party, she was under the weather last weekend. Tierney and her Friends and cousins are at Kid Zone an indoor playground that is super fun. We have also celebrated Dave's birthday January 17th and of course extended family, John (6th), Jerry (10th) and my mom Margaret (21st) have all celebrated too this month. The weather and driving around here have been terrible, I am certainly not a winter fan. I am dearly waiting for Wiarton Willie to announce an early end to winter... Speaking of summer, our clan is making a move to Grand Bend for our annual summer vaca. We are in the process of finding our new digs and are looking forward to some new adventures there ! Stay safe and warm everyone !

Episode: A cool Yule

It was quite a journey getting there but Christmas 2008 has proved to be one of the best on record. We were blessed to have my mom aka Gram with us this year. She arrived on December 23rd and went home on January 3rd so we had a nice relaxed visit with her. We haven't been able to have her come to see us as much since she started her eye treatments. December 24th proved to be the usual exciting time as Rob Kathy & Marg waited patiently for the kids and fur-kids to arrive. Finally we were up to our final tally of 12 people and & 7 dogs. Once the dogs got re-acquainted and the tree was prepared we settled in for a long winters nap which ended suddenly at 7 in the morning. The gifts were opened and oohed and ahhed over and then Tom Turkey was put in the oven. We were joined at dinner by Greg, Ali and Mary...always a welcome addition - We LOVE those girls...and Greg too. Boxing Day, Rob Kathy & Marg went to visit Uncle Gil and had a nice dinner out with him at Red Lobster. Dec. 28th was Gabby's shopping Spree day and it was a blow-out ! Lots of spectacular deals ! We had dinner & designer cupcakes on the 30th before the Marts & Silvas went to the Rangers game which was one of their Christmas gifts. We rang in New Years Eve with a Italian dinner and games night at the Marts. On January 3rd we hosted the Watson Clan Christmas dinner and it was fantastic to see everyone ! Hope everyone had a safe trip home.
All the best to all in 2009 !

I'm thankful for........

Thanksgiving weekend is one of (if not the) most favorite time
of the year for me I love all the activities we do as a family. I know
the kids do as well, Tierney loves going to pumkim patches and farms. She loves hanging out with her cousins and Mom and Dad. This year we went to Shantholm and Kimglo Farms and the Oktoberfest parade and had our first family Thanksgiving at our new house. We hope everybody had a great time. There are some great video shots of the kids getting scared out their minds on the wagon ride at Kimglo, if I can figure out how to upload them then you can all enjoy in the meantime......check out some of my very favorite photos from this season!!! Gobble Gobble

My "Martha" Style centrepiece made from genuine gourds hand-picked by Tierney at Shantholm farms, these are authentic gourds I can't stress their aunthenticity enough.

Dave and Gabby enjoying a beautiful meal prepared by my talented and handsome husband. Notice the authentic foil crown!

Here are the children at the parade, ......total goofballs, authentic, genuine goofballs!!

Imagine both town criers in the same place at the same time!!

Tierney taking in the slendor that is Oktoberfest!!!!!!

Kim!!! The parade is the other way! Turn around ....Turn around!!

And here we are at Kimglo on the infamous hayride! Stay tuned for actual, genuine, aunthentic footage of the hayride!!!
