Episode: The Hottest Tickets in Town

We coulda sold them for thousands of dollars apparently.
But under no circumstances were we selling.
The Hottest Tickets in town.
And we had 'em.
Last weekend.

The Opening Act: The Jonas Brothers!!!! Have you been to the Year 3000? We have!

The Main Event!!!
Miley Cyrus as HANNAH MONTANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dave (yes I said Dave) Kim, Clarissa and Gabby braved terrible road conditions, and Gabby's not-quite-feeling-great-ness to head to the Air Canada Centre to see this wicked concert!

I know it will be a day to remember for a long time. We all had so much fun and were thrilled that Clarissa was able to join us. Rui couldn't make it - he had a date with Nanny to go and see The Bee Movie starring Jerry Seinfeld. All in all - an amazing day...

Episode: Kim gets a new job!

So I am staying at the same company - that I have been at for the last (almost) 8 years but I am moving from the Broker Sales department to the Marketing and Communications team as the new "Individual Insurance Marketing Specialist".

Super pumped! I love working with this group and for such a cool company! Now how many people get to do a creative job at an insurance company? No seriously, it's a question, how many?

I DO!!!
Plus I get to eat lunch with Laura at least once or twice a week which is usually a bonus when she is funny and has not just had her wisdom teeth out (like she did today).
I hear the soup is good...

Episode: Fly Lady would have a tear !

Please examine this purse... Notice all the articles needed for viewing an Oktoberfest Thanksgiving parade are in here. Donations, camera, snacks, money for the firefighters, money for flashing buttons, etc. etc. The only thing this well organized miss forgot was to go potty BEFORE going to the parade ! Oh well you didn't miss much !

Episode: Pirate Princess Croptastic Day

Today mom and I went to the Pirate Princess crop hosted by the Scrapping Turtle in St. Jacobs. Hannah, Lori, Theresa and yes, even Bob - went WAY above and beyond expectations and hosted a fabulous and affordable event... well, it would have been affordable if I could have stayed out of the store! (But that is the point isn't it ladies and Bob - mwaahahaha)
Breast Cancer begone was the theme and I have a boobylicious new pink pirate bra to celebrate because I could not walk the plank blindfolded if it meant my life! 7 spins and 7 steps - not a chance! I am happy with the bra anyway and it is indeed my size for those who might be interested!

Once my camera is up and running - I will post some pirate pics. It was a great way to spend a relaxing Sunday with Mommy creating and relating with some very nice ladies.
It was nice to see Jasmine and Mindy and hang with them again - and all the other wonderful ladies at the crop. I definitely think we got the better end of the weekend deal with only 8 of us there - that just means one thing right? More prizes! I am sure everyone walked away with at least one gift!
Awesome day! Can't wait for the next crop!!!

Episode: Recap - Watson Family reunion

On August 18th the clan gathered at Marg's house for a Watson family reunion. The weather was sunny and clear and relatives traveled from Bracebridge, Burlington, Midland, Kitchener-Waterloo, Brampton, Dunnville and the Barrie area. Fun, fellowship and food were in great supply. The kids also enjoyed the jumpy castle and the older kids enjoyed the rope golf and badminton. The food was to die for...salads, meat dishes and desserts galore** Everyone out-did themselves with their special dishes. Erin and Kevin's "Cool Corn Cookin' Contraption" was a big hit ! Afterwards our 'tweens Kaitlyn and Allie enjoyed a sleepover at Wendy's and Gabby & Mary hit the hay at Grams.
***Please note that none of Midge's butter tarts went to waste...we saw to that !

Episode: Thoughtful Aunt and 1 More Sleep!

Some people are born with the thoughtful gene. For absolutely no reason at all (which is the most fun way I think) our lovely aunt Vicki and cool uncle Johnboy sent a care package to Tierney, Gab and Roo containing a wicked beach hooded towel and facecloth with awesome colours and little characters. Our trio of terror will be the most stylin'in Sauble this year while they strut their stuff ! The kids had so much fun opening the surprise package. Thanks so much for the Markdale Watsons for their thoughtfulness! Can't wait to see you this week and hope that you will be staying for dinner - or at least for a while longer than you could last year!

Episode: Glum Gus Gone

I am a bit glum that old Gussy is gone back home with Gram. He is a cute little thing and funny because he followed me around. When I was moving too fast for him, he found the kids and followed them from room to room. He's sweet and the kids (and maybe even Kelsey) enjoyed having him around.

Episode: Always be prepared !

When packing for your evening outing, whether it be a baseball game, campfire and walk in the park, ALWAYS BRING YOUR SWEATER. Sweaters are frequently needed, even though it was warm in the day. Children under the age of 7 ALWAYS need to have their sweaters so their nanny will not have to fashion sweater replacements out of adult sweatshirts, blankets or tea towels. This is the Gospel according to Nanny...heed my advise, grasshoppers !

Episode: Erin & Kevin's Wedding

My favorite part of Kevin & Erin's wedding was seeing all the family and friends getting together and all having a fantastic time. I took some amazing pictures of my very good looking family who make me so proud everywhere I go... also I would have to say it was an absolute pleasure partying with the folks from Dunnville who are so much fun too ! The Barrie clan are a lot of fun and that fun continued until after the fireworks on Canada Day when we said goodbye and headed home. A very special moment was this reconnection of our beloved "Triplets" who are such a joy and so always so entertaining. Lots of love to Erin & Kevin ! Good luck and happy landings to Jerry - we can't wait till we have you back on our soil !

Episode: The Birthday that Never Was!

Happy B-day to one wicked cool brother in law Cameron... If anyone ever does deserve a fun birthday party it's you Cam - somehow, someway, we will have cake this weekend coming up if it kills us all!

Thanks for always drinking beer with Dave and for teaching me (Kim) a little about laid back-ness. I think someday it might just eventually wear off a bit on me... I hope it does!

The kids thank you for ALWAYS swinging them around, whenever they ask you, and for (accidentally - wink wink) giving them both their first taste of beer!!!

Episode: Hitched - Ernie and Kev Tie the Knot

What was your favourite part of Erin and Kevin's wedding?

Dave sez: The conga line. Dave feels that he was instrumental in the success of this particular dance number. Dave was feelin' very hot hot hot. Dave was also a HUGE fan of Uncle Pete and if that guy goes on the road with his routine, Dave will likely be the first one in line to buy tickets.

Kim sez: I really enjoyed the video montage with Ern and Kev's baby pics. But the dancing all night long just couldn't be beat. Who has a wedding with pina coladas anyway? That rocked the house!

Gabby sez: Going up and down in the elevator, playing in the kids room and dancing with everybody.

Rui sez: Watching movies with the ladies upstairs and all the other kids. Chicken fingers for dinner (he actually ate them all!) and running up and down the aisle after the ceremony with Gab, Allie and Mary.

Episode: Doggy Day and Birthday

We got an early start on Sunday June 10th to go to Woofstock in Toronto, St. Lawrence Market area. Our trip was smooth and along the way Gram noticed all the cool improvements on the Toronto Waterfront. We parked and walked into the Festival. Bogey visited his peeps, Sandy at CYTR and Brenda his former foster mom at Tiny Paws Rescue where we met Brigitte a doggie that just got rescued after a terrible accident in which she lost a leg but now has a great new forever home in Toronto. We had our breakie, coffee and muffin at a sidewalk table and enjoyed watching all the dogs and owners walking by. There were tons on exhibitors and displays which we saw and Bogey and Dona got personalized bandanas. All the girls got croc charms of their dogs. We came home and celebrated Laura's birthday with the whole family and ended off with an evening walk to the park. Laura got lots of cool presents and a cake was enjoyed by all. The boys enjoyed the new pepper relish Kathy found at Zehrs. Gram left this morning to go back to Stroud to get ready for our visit and the wedding at Canada Day ! What a great weekend.

EPISODE: WHS BUS TOUR

Saturday June 9th was a beautiful day for the annual Bus trip with the Hort Society. We met bright and early with our TH's in hand and headed out over hill and dale to visit five rural gardens of Bruce County with a stop for a delicious lunch in Hanover. We perused all the beautiful plants on display in the gardens as well as those for sale in the garden centres. We purchased a few new additions to our gardens which you will all get the chance to admire in the near future. Also on the tour was my coworker Mary and her mom who we got a chance to know and enjoyed their company. We got home at 7 and had some dinner and an early night. We had to get rested up for the next day !

Episode: Getting Older and Wiser!

Rui is turning 4 tomorrow. Insane. Incredible. A sad day in the Silva house. That's my baby you know! Four years goes by in an instant. Rui - I love that every morning when we are leaving the house you say to Gabby and I "After you ladies..." and you hold the front door open for us. I hope you never stop doing that even when you are 12 and a brat and only thinking about skateboarding and hockey and math homework! It's too precious. Happy Birthday My Man!

Also - you should know that today I received my marks for my final course in the Chartered Insurance Professional designation program and you can just refer to me as Kim Silva, RIBO, CIP. No seriously - I mean it. I want you to say "Excuse me KIM CIP can you pass the salt?" or "May I speak with Kim CIP please?" Try and remember this in all your future correspondence as well. Make sure all birthday/shower/wedding invitations contain my current very important insurance status - or I may just not reply.

Ok - just kidding. It's not THAT big of a deal. (But let's party about it anyway! Take-Out from Sakura Island Sushi on King St would not be unreasonable - vegetarian of course!)

Episode: Bloggin in the Blues

Haven't blogged in a while.
Congrats Meme on graduatin'. We are very proud of your accomplishments and stellar grades! WOW! Congrats to Dad and his new job starting next week. We hope you will be very happy in your new company. I am sure you will be great!

Erin and Kev's stag and doe was a super party. I don't think I have seen so many people in one room in a long time. Gram danced her night away with Robo and Adam from what I saw! Ronny was cutting rugs too while Erin, Wendy and all the bridesmaids did an awesome job running the fun and games! I am glad we were able to make it, even those we got lost on the way back to K-town.

Mom's Day is this weekend and we are anxiously awaiting the fun and excitement that this day will bring. I know I am planning on receiving breakfast in bed, many gifts and the servitude of all the Silvas. I would like to spend the day reading romance novels or scrapbooking (hint hint) until such time as it is time to get together with my own Mom, Laura and Meg while all the boys (Uni too) completely make and serve up drinks and dinner. A girl can dream...

Meme, Uni & Toopys Day of Shopping

So .. tonight is my (Megan's) gala, meaning the awards party for the Advertising Program which I just gradumated from. And last night I get this call from my sister Laura, an M, who asks if I can babysit Princess Tierney for the day since her babysitters kid is sickly. So .. Tierney came last minute shopping with Unison, who had the day off, and I. We started our day off by heading over to Cam and La's to pick up the child, and trade vehicles. After Cameroon went to work we busted our tails and headed over to Conestoga College to drop off the tent cards for the event. Tierney met my program directer, Scottish Mr Joe Romer, and my favourite teacher of the whole bunch. He called her the "beautiful blonde" and she waved hi to him.

After that we headed out for some yummy breakfast at Wimpy's Diner where we tipped 25% .. cuz we're nice like that, and Tierney loved the potatoe wedge hash brown thingies and little pieces of ham. Speaking of ham, everyone thought she was the biggest one, cuz every 5 seconds she would yell out at the top of her lungs and bang her baba on the table. And of course everyone looked over at her and laughed cuz she was squeeling she was laughing so hard. She especially liked the little containers of milk they had for coffee and thought it was funny that I would say "Thats Milkie" when she shook them.

After Wimpy's we headed to Fairview Mall to get some last minute stuff for Gala including shoe inserts, earrings, necklaces, and shoes for Unison. But being the fantastic shoppers that we are we just HAD to pick up something for Teirney and Unison wanted a special gift, the new Benny Banassi CD. Apparently techno is cool again? But that wasn't the good surprise. Check out Tierney's new PET! .... She loved Mulligan so much, that when we took her into the store, she picked out her very own Mulligan. I'm not kidding, she really did pick it out for herself!

Stepping on the pedal & the huggability squeeze test!

TADAAAAAA .. we'd like you to meet, Bunny Wabbit.

Washing the bunny.
Lots of fun I know. So .. that was our adventure. I'm just heading to get my hair done and Uni is haning with the bebe at the house while she naps. I hope you liked reading about our day! And betcha cant wait to see how smokin' hot me, mom, dad, and uni will look tonite!

-Signed, Meme

Our poor little Toopy

Our poor little princess is under the weather. Tierney has a virus and we hope she is better soon. Thank goods she still has her sense of humour and her cousins Gab & Ru can still cheer her up. Here is Tierney at Nanny's on Saturday having a wee snack after her lunch.

Hope you are feeling better really soon ! You too Laura - Love Nanny & Poppy.

Megan Cooks up a Storm - Take Two

Megan & Rob were asked to make dinner last Monday. Little did I know Megan would take this request and turn it into a fantastic dining experience. Using recipes from Rachel Ray's web site, Megan cooked up a feast of spanish rice and tortellini with chicken. We all enjoyed the delicious food and also appreciated all the effort in shopping (with help from Rob), cooking and serving.
Megan is also cropping an adorable book of family recipes. A new budding chef is in our midst.
Thanks, Meme

Episode: Gram pays a surprise visit

Gram stopped by on today for lunch ! Strange, because I had no idea she was calling. Mary told me that she was calling from her car. I grabbed the phone in panic mode thinking she was calling me on the way to the hospital to see some critically injured family member. Instead she said she was in Salem on her way home from Owen Sound. I agreed to meet her at home as I was getting a ride with Schmeebs and Dad @ 11:30. On the way we discussed how tragically off course she was to end up in Waterloo on a trip from Owen Sound to Barrie. When we met up it turns out she is on her way to visit Gil and Connie for a week ! Boy, am I out of the loop !! Here's a shout out to our sick little kiddies. Gab and Ru are on the mend now but our poor little Toopy has an ear infection. That is so sore, poor girl. Hope you feel better soon Tierney ! An emergency crop may be in the offing. Gil has requested a preview of his book. I don't think the general public understands that these books are not simply a cut and paste operation but a creative process driven by inspiration and creativity. Anyways, I better get cuttin' and pastin'. Can't go on Tuesday as it the WHS director's meeting. Exciting night tonight ! Megan and Rob are cooking dinner. They are in search of exotic ingredients at Sobey's ...I'll blog the results tomorrow.

Episode Chills Thrills (not really) and Sick Days

So I have not been to work since last Thursday and ordinarily that would sound like a vacation but it is NOT! The kids are both super sick and we are back to the doctor today for the 2nd time this week. My poor babies!!! I hope she can do something for them because they just do not seem to be getting any better. Gabby seems like she is getting worse! No fun at all!
